Troop 648, established in 1988, is a member of the Spirit Lake District and is proud to have over 20 active Scouts. We know that these young Scouts are busy. Many of our Scouts are active with school programs, sports, their church, and other activities. We strive to make Scouting a fun, learning experience amongst their peers and friends.
- Campouts: Troop – MONTHLY (District Camporee, canoe trip, Super Weekends, BSA Winter Lodge/Winter camp, horseback riding, snowshoeing, hiking, biking and more). In addition, Patrols also plan activities.
- Summer Camp 2026: Camp Parsons
- Community Involvement: Winter Hospitality Overflow, Veteran’s Day Parade, Walk & Knock, Christmas Tree Pick up, Evergreen Memorial Gardens, and more.
- Trail to First Class and Eagle Trail programs with assigned Assistant Scoutmasters.

- Dues: $60.00. Troop 648 is a “Pay as You Go” Troop. After dues (to cover some Troop expenses), participants only pay for what they are attending.
- Private Facebook page with pictures and calendar of events.
- Merit badge counselors that cover most Merit Badges, and ALL Eagle Required Merit Badges!
- 2024 Journey to Excellence Gold Unit
- Multiple Scouts with National Youth Leadership Training
- Many Scouts are active in Order of the Arrow, Scouting’s National Honor Society, with several past and present Troop members holding Chapter, Lodge, and Section Offices.
- MANY Scouts and Scouters from Troop 648 staff Resident Summer Camps
