National and Council dues are paid annually, directly from you to Scouting America on your myscouting.org account. You will get reminder emails from them 60 days in advance. The date will be the same as your original registration date or last recharter (March). These fees go to administrative costs, insurance and facility costs at the national and council level. The Troop does not receive any of this.
Scouts: $85- National dues
$40- Council dues
$3.75- Administration fee
$15- Scout Life magazine (optional)
$25- One time charge for new Scouts
Adults: $65- National dues
$40- Council dues

Troop dues are $60 annually and are charged to your Scout’s account in February. These dues help to offset the cost of awards, supplies, and Troop gear.
All fundraising earnings and direct payments go into the Troop’s bank account and belong to the troop/chartering organization.
Because we are a non-profit youth organization, once funds are deposited they can only be used for scouting related costs.
Scouts receive “credits” based on participation in fundraisers and direct deposits. These are tracked in a “Scout credit account”. $1 = 1 credit.
The treasurer will provide a written account statement to the scouts and an emailed statement to the scout’s guardian every month.
Scouts can request reimbursement from their credit account for self made, scouting related, purchases for example, uniforms, gear and national registration fees paid online. A receipt and reimbursement form must be submitted to the treasurer in order to be reimbursed. Funds will not be reimbursed preemptively.
Scouts who leave the Troop will forfeit their credits to the Troop with the exception of those who transfer to another Troop within the Scouting America organization. In this instance a check will be issued directly to the Troop they transfer to.
Payments can be made to the treasurer by cash, check, cheddar up or credit card. A fee will be charged to payments made via cheddar up (3.95% + flat fee $0.95) or credit card (3.5% + flat fee $0.15)
Sign-up sheets will be set out at Troop meetings after events are announced. Scouts or guardians are able to sign up on the sheet. Please check with your scout if they have signed up for an event.
Meals for weekend outings are planned at $15 per scout: $3 breakfast x2, $4 lunch, $5 dinner. The full amount will be charged despite partial attendance.
Scouts who are signed up for an outing and counted during meal planning will be charged for an outing regardless of attendance.
If you are signed up for an outing and can’t attend you must let the Grubmaster and the Scoutmaster know by the Troop meeting the Monday prior to the outing to not be charged for meals.
Scouts should have eaten dinner, or bring their own sack dinner on Friday night.
At the Troop meeting prior to the outing scouts will plan a menu and assign a “Grubmaster”.
The Grubmaster will need to go shopping for the food on the list and bring it to the campout in critter proof containers and on ice, if appropriate.
The Grubmaster will submit receipts and a reimbursement form to the treasurer and will be reimbursed either by check or a credit to their scout account.
Campsite fees will be divided amongst the scouts who attend the campout.
Registration fees for council run events will be charged to scout accounts. These are typically $15-20 per event and are non-refundable once the registration is submitted.
Scouts will be expected to have their own personal camping gear, see list.
Cooking gear, propane, firewood and canopies will be provided by the troop.
Those who do not have enough credits in their scout accounts to cover an outing will be expected to pay for the outing on arrival.
Summer camp 2026 is $600 per scout. To help with budgeting, scouts who are signed up will have $60 set aside in their ledger for “scout camp reserves” every month. A camp commitment form must be completed in order to be registered for camp. Please make sure to keep a positive balance in your account.
Camp cost for adults is $315. A $50 registration fee will be charged to your scout’s account at time of sign up. The remaining cost will be charged on June 5th. It is expected that adults can budget for themselves so no reserves are set aside ;)
